Write for us
We welcome proposals that help readers see design with fresh eyes: grounded essays, object histories, visual readings and clear explanations of how a design choice works in context. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the subject, the central idea and what a reader will understand or notice by the end. Include why the angle suits Global Design Journal, what material or examples you would draw on, and a brief note about your relevant experience. A focused proposal with a distinct point is more helpful than a broad list of possible topics.
The work we are looking for
We are interested in writing about objects, visual culture, spaces, design history and making across different places and contexts. Strong contributions use precise examples, explain unfamiliar terms and distinguish fact from personal interpretation. We do not want copy written to promote a product or organisation.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page form and choose the editorial option. Please send a short pitch rather than a finished unsolicited article. Do not include private or sensitive information. A submission is a proposal, not a promise of publication; we will consider its fit and clarity before deciding whether to take it further.
Design makes the world legible
A small detail can tell a bigger story about use, place and culture. We slow down to notice the choices behind designed things.
